A BRIEF HISTORY OF HILLVIEW UNIQUE PRIMARY SCHOOL, EDEM-NRU, NSUKKA
Hillview Unique Primary School, Edem – Nru Nsukka was built and founded by professor and Dr (Mrs) C.L.A Asadu in the year 2013 through their personal efforts. The school started academic activities on 16th September, 2013, with primaries one to five (1-5) with a population of thirty seven (37) pupils, eighteen boys and nineteen girls at the end of the first week.
LOCATION: The School is situated at the southernend of Edem – Nru Junction called “Orual Edem” Nru Nsukka and the eastern end of the school is a view of a range of hills a called “Ugwu Ataba” and “Ugwu Ezugwu ogbu” from where the name Hillview was derived. One the western end is a road leading to Nru junction from “Otobo Amarika”.
In the south there is a road from the junction connecting Nru Technical Associate’s Hall at the Westernend to Enugu Edem road leading to Nru junction from Enugu Edem. The Northernened boundary is occupied by peasant farmers grown to various aralttle and tree crops. The tree crops especially oil palm(Elais guinensis), Oil beam trees (Peutacletra Maroplyla).
FACILITIES: The school started in a two storey building. The ground floor has classrooms and offices with stores. The first floor has two classrooms, library and computer room, while the second floor has a hall for examination and church services. Each floor has three toilets, while the first and second floors have dressing rooms. Premises these is a football field, a garden and a farmland
